Keywords Talk
Join us on Wednesday, March 5, at 4 pm in the Jones Room at Emory’s Woodruff Library. Dr. Kylie Smith will give a KEYWORDS talk for the Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry, where she was the President’s Humanities Fellow in 2020-2021. The talk focuses on the ethical and methodological challenges she faced while writing her book Jim Crow in the Asylum: Psychiatry and Civil Rights in the American South. The book will be published by UNC Press in Fall 2025.
Ryan Emanuel Book Talk
In partnership with Emory’s Center for Native American and Indigenous Studies, Dr. Ryan Emanuel, Associate Professor and Co-Chair of Community Engagement and Environmental Justice at the Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment will discuss his book, “On the Swamp: Fighting for Indigenous Environmental Justice.
Art Installation
Hosted by Emory’s Woodruff Health Science Library and in partnership with artist Stephanie Fleming, The Say Study will open an art installation for viewing on Friday, March 28, from 7-9 pm. The opening will be preceded by an artist talk from 6-7 pm in Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing Room P01.
