Dr. Kylie Smith will give a KEYWORDS talk for Humanistic Inquiry, where she was the President’s Humanities Fellow in 2020-2021. The talk focuses on the ethical and methodological challenges she faced while writing her book Jim Crow in the Asylum: Psychiatry and Civil Rights in the American South. UNC Press will publish the book in the Fall of 2025.
